suspense

Suspence is the anticipation of waiting in a line for a rollarcoaster. The suspence is when you fell all jumpy and not sure you want to do this, because you have the feeling of being scared. But you stay in the line because you think the rollarcoaster looks fun and awesome. That is what suspence is.

short stories

The stories that we have read have been relitively good. But some of the stories I liked better then others, because like the story the most dangerous game was my favorite. The reason for that is because it just got me hooked to the story so much and I just couldn't stop reading to find out more. But one story I wasn't to fond of would have to be is the story of two kinds, because I just really find it very entertaining, because i like a more fast story not a really low pace story. Even though it was low pace it was still a good read. A story I also found low pace was the story marigolds, which again wasn't a bad story I just didn't find it as entertaining as the other stories. However I did like where have you gone charming billy, because I really like stories on the veitnam war. I just find that history very fasinating and really enjoyed it.

does combat build character?

I do agree that the experience of combat builds character, because the expereince sticks with you in life. It makes you think differently about life and reflects your descisions which I think is for the better. So for the most part i think that combat builds better character.

• the time that i had to go to the hospital because i flipped on my gocart at gocart club in vail
• the time i got in a fight with dashawn in 5th grade at my school and he called me a traitor
• the time my brother haydan was born at tmc hospital
• the time my brother myles and mya were born at tmc hospital

the time i fell out of a grocery cart at the fry's over on 22nd and harrison when i was 5 years old

the time fell down on the stairs at sahauro during the 8th of october football and bumped somebody in the back of the head.

• the time i got punched in the face by austin in 5th grade because he was trying to steal my gloves

The house on mango street ( The monkey garden )

In this chapter, Esperanza is describing this garden which used to be the home of a monkey they would come and see. But once the monkey had left, everything in the garden started to die. Then just over night abandoned cars started to appear in the garden. Soon this garden became her hangout spot and she used the cars as a hiding spot. Then she started to describe how she wanted to die there.

This chapter had some very strong thoughts of what Esperanza thought of herself and i thought it really described well how this was the place she wanted die at.

The house on mango street ( What Sally said )

In this chapter, Esperanza talks about sally's father is over protective. When Sally tried to spend the night at Esperanza's house, Sally's father came and asked for her to come home. Also whenever she ever talks to boy and her father sees it, she dosn't come to school the next day. Then she explains how that one she comes to school with bruises all on her face.

I thought this chapter was very sad, because it sounds like that the father is beating up sally in the book.

The house on mango street ( A smart cookie )

In this chapter, Esperanza explains how her mother and her used to do stuff, like going to see a ballet and how she borrows opera records and sings with a velvety tone. Then how her mother was making oatmeal and Esperanza describes her as Madame Butterfly.

This chapter confused me very much, because the whole entire time I didn't know what was going on.

The house on mango street ( Beautiful and cruel )

In this chapter, Esperanza talks about how she is an ugly daughter and how she dosn't want to end up like other girls who have matured and grown beautiful. Then she describes how she dosn't want to end up like a woman with red red lips and is cruel to every man and makes them crazy and laugh them away.

This chapter was again very short, and I didn't find it very entertaining.

The house on mango street ( Bums in the attic )

In this chapter, Esperanza describes how she and her family goes to the houses on a hill on her father's days off. Then she tells how she is ashamed when she goes to that house because it is nothing like her house. Then she describes how she wants to have a house like it she is older, and how she would invite street bums a place to sleep in her attic.

I didn't really find this chapter very interesting, because it was too short and didn't get in to as much detail as i wanted them to.

The house on mango street ( Minerva writes poems)

In this chapter, Esperanza talks about a woman named Minerva who is a little bit older than Esperanza. Minerva is a mother of two children and has a husband who leaves her constantly. Some nights Minerva is yelling and screaming at her husband to go out. Then he does and takes all of his stuff then leaves. Later that day her husband comes back and some how talks Minerva into taking him back. Also Esperanza explains how they both Minerva and her make and share poetry togather.

I thought that this chapter was interesting and entertaining, but a very short chapter at that.

The house on mango street ( sally )

In this chapter, Esperanza describes a new character named sally. Esperanza describes Sally as a girl with Egypt like eyes with shiney black hair as a raven's feathers that atracts the attention of many boys. Sally's father says that being that beautiful would get you in to trouble. Then Esperanza goes into detail about how sally wears black. She desribes how she wishes that she could wear black but can't because of her mother saying she can't.

I thought this chapter was releativly boring and I didn't really understand it very much.

The house on mango street ( Rafaela who drinks coconut and papaya juice on tuesdays)

In this chapter, Esperanza talks about a woman, Rafaela, who gets locked up in her house whenever  her husband goes out. The reason as Esperanza puts it is the husband is afraid she will run away since she is too beautiful to look at. On some tuesdays whan Esperanza passes by Rafaela's house she is given a dollar from Rafaela to get her either coconut or papaya juice.

This chapter was pretty interisting to read, but what it dosn't really tell us, the readers, exactly why this woman drinks papaya juice and coconut juice.
